More than 90% cases of all male baldness can be attributed to male pattern baldness (which is genetic). Therefore, if you do not have any problem with your genes as far as hair loss is concerned, you fall in that 10% category filled with men who lose hair because of other internal and external factors. This gives you a chance to actually prevent hair loss and never have to suffer from baldness while you are in your youth or middle age.
Preventing hair loss is much easier said than done. You are certainly not going to get rid of hair loss by sitting at your home and looking at hair care product commercials. You need to be proactive about holding on to your precious locks. Most importantly, you need to follow guidelines and tips that will help you achieve immunity against baldness. Following these guidelines are not always challenging contrary to popular belief. Some of them are very easy to live by. 1) Learn More about Your Hair
If you are a person who has been suffering from hair loss problems as of late, then you are probably someone who has conducted a lot of research on hair loss and hair care products that are currently available in the market. There is nothing wrong with doing that. In fact, you are encouraged to know as much about the products as you possibly can so that you can make the right purchase. However, making the right purchase involves having knowledge about the product and the part of your body where you are going to apply the product. Many of us do not realize this, but our hair is unique. The kind of hair that you have may not necessarily be the same as the kind of hair that the person next to you has. Each individual has his or her own hair type. Before you head out into the market to purchase a hair care or hair loss product, you need to assess the type of hair that you have. Once you are aware of your hair type, you can buy a hair loss product that fulfils the specific requirements of your hair.
2) Get a Hair Cut Every 6 Weeks
People suffering from hair loss should be focused on keeping their hair short. The longer your hair is, the more problems you are going to face. For example, long hair gets contaminated more easily. In addition to that, it is easier for sweat to build up on your scalp when it is covered with long tresses that allow very little air in to your scalp. Furthermore, long hair gets pulled and tucked every now and then by people or objects. This makes your hair strands more susceptible to damage. This is why you are advised to trim down your hair at least once every six weeks. This will keep your hair in good shape, allow plenty of air to pass in to your scalp and prevent contaminants from settling in your hair.
3) Shampoo Only When Needed
There is no need to have a fixed routine for shampooing your hair. Although there are plenty of anti-hair loss shampoos out there which are sold as products that should be used at least twice a week, you should only grab the shampoo bottle when you feel that your hair has gone dirty. If you have been lounging indoors for three or four consecutive days and have had very little exposure to outside air, there is probably no need for you to shampoo your hair. Excessive shampooing can turn your hair dry. Dry hair is an alternative name for weak hair. Weak hair, as you all should be aware, is destined to fall off the scalp prematurely. Hence, it makes very little sense to dig a hole for yourself by using shampooing your hair unnecessarily. Using the shampoo once or twice a week should be enough for most people.
